How DripPaw started
It all started with Austin, my own dog and style icon from day one. I was always switching up his look, and chains quickly became his go-to accessory. But after a while, the standard silver chains began to feel a bit boring. That’s when a family friend introduced me to powder coating and everything changed.
I began experimenting with colourful finishes for Austin’s chain collars, and soon I was making custom pieces for friends dogs too. What started as a fun creative outlet turned into something more, and by late 2023 I saw real potential to build a brand around it.
Due to university commitments I chose to put my business on the backburner for a while and focus on my degree. I have now graduated with a bachelors degree in Concept Art for Games and Film as of July 2026! My love of art transfers through to the graphic designs I work towards on my social media and of course, this website!
Nova, our german shepherd puppy, joined the family in May of 2026 and she loves wearing her coloured chains! Today we run a small setup from home in Co. Down, Northern Ireland, carefully assembling each chain before it’s powder coated and packaged with care. Every piece is made to stand out, just like the dogs who wear them!
So what is Powder-Coating?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process used to apply a protective and decorative coating to metal.
The powder is electrostatically charged and sprayed onto a grounded object, then cured with heat, which melts the powder into a smooth, durable, and uniform coating.
This creates a durable and long lasting finish, makes it a lot more resistant to chipping, scratches and fading and my most favourite part is that it is environmently friendly!
